Versatile Application
In many Materials laboratories, the quantitative analysis of a materials structure is an important part of the characterisation process.  Efficient PCs using the Windows XP operating system for conducting routine measurements and creating reports at the push of a button.  With Omnimet Enterprise 9.x you are able to quickly and efficiently evaluate microstructures in colour and black and white.

Colour and Resolution
OmniMet Enterprise can process both analogue and high resolution digital signals, in colour or black and white.  Multiple cameras can be connected to the system, with in-built calibration for each, swapping between image sources with a single mouse-click.

Phase Analysis
Colour detection, or selection of phases, can be attained with the click of a mouse.  Colour can be detected using either HLS (hue, luminence and saturation) or RGB (red green and blue) values. Cumulative selection, or detection of up to 16 seperate phases simultaneously, is possible. Any detected phase can be readily analysed.

Conventional Grey-Scale Analysis
Analysis is often achieved by differentiating microstructure on the basis of grey-scale contrast, for instance when identifying grain boundaries.  Omnimet Enterprise contains multiple algorithms specifically intended for differentiating in grey-scale.

Picture Storage and Report Production
Pictures are stored and annotated using inbuilt databasing tools.  The database is fully customisable, and allows the user to create templates based on the users database to extract images, image and specimen information and measurement data from the database directly into a bespoke and professional reporting template with nothing but a mouse click.

Flexible Analysis
Users can create their own analysis routines, using a simple routine-building tool, which shows each stage of the analysis as it is "built".  Routines can be saved and used whenever required, edited, copied or amended.  Pre-fabricated routines can be loaded and amended to suit your particular material.

Automated Analysis
Buehler can retrofit most commercial microscopes with an automated scanning stage and autofocus unit, which can be linked directly to the Omnimet software.  This allows the user to scan across large areas of samples, automatically conducting your analysis routine for each image field.  Statistical data is accumulated for each field and cumulatively.
